About Us

Our Mission

Our mission at ETXlife.com has always been to bring attention to small, local businesses that contribute to our tight-knit East Texas communities. The struggle to stay afloat in these uncertain times has everyone anxious.

We have been working hard behind the scenes to come up with a platform that would support small businesses from this point forward.

Not being able to shop your favorite stores or visit various outdoor markets and festivals is detrimental to our local artisans and makers. We want to change that by bringing all your favorite products together in the ETXstore.

We will advertise and promote the store so you reach a broader audience. We will add your products for you. We will handle all the payments and processing. No fees to list your items. Your listings will not expire. You simply email your product photos, descriptions and price (including shipping) and we do the rest.

Once your item sells, a small fee of 10% of the total price is the only charge you will incur. This fee allows us to pay for credit card processing, to advertise, host the website and be fully available to assist you in building your online business. By coming together under one virtual roof we have the opportunity to maximize exposure for your business. We pledge to work hard getting you orders so you can focus on making your products.

About Our Founder: Ciara Polikretis

My East Texas roots run deep. My grandmother was born in Gilmer right before the Great Depression. The family moved to California when my Dad was a little boy in search of more jobs. The East Texas connection resurfaced when the company my Dad worked for closed the plant in San Francisco and relocated to Marshall, TX. As big as Texas is, life managed to reach out and put my Dad 47 miles from his birthplace after 40 years. I bounced back and forth between Texas and California for several years. I lived in Gilmer, Longview, Austin and Waco where I graduated with a degree in Communications from Baylor. Sic ’em Bears. Like my Grandparents, I moved to California in search of more opportunity. I got that when I met my husband and we started our own web development business and had our daughter. When my Dad got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer we sold everything that wouldn’t fit in our rented Suburban and moved to Marshall within 3 weeks. Family is everything and we wanted to give my Dad as much time with his granddaughter as possible. Now our daughter gets to go on nature walks with Dodah in the piney woods as we celebrate the East Texas life.

Shop Local

Everytime you purchase from a locally owned business it means more money is kept within the community. Locally owned businesses often purchase from other local businesses, service providers and farmers which enhances the economy right outside your door.
